This year OMS is working hard to decrease the number of chronically absent students. It is imperative that when your child is absent from school that you provide notes to the front office regarding the absence. OMS will have three interventions and/or tiers for chronically absent students. Tier one will begin when a student has five unexcused absences. Tier two will begin when a student has more than five unexcused absences. Tier three will begin when a student has ten or more unexcused absences. In each tier, there will be disciplinary consequences for your student. To avoid the intervention and/or disciplinary consequences, please provide notes to the front office each time your student is absent.
