About Me

Hi! My name is Web Hutchings and I am the Career Explorations teacher at Oakland Middle School. I am also the 6th grade and 8th grade (M-Z alpha) Administrative Dean for our school.

A little education info about me: I am a graduate of Oakland High School (1991). I attended UT Martin on a golf scholarship (1991-1995), and stayed on as a grad-assistant for 2 years. I earned my Bachelors of Science in Education in December of 1997. After graduation, I moved back home to Murfreesboro and started teaching at Rock Springs Elementary School in August of 1998. I moved to Central Middle School in August of 1999, and then to Eagleville School in January of 2001. I finished my Masters Degree from MTSU in August of 2003. In August of 2005 I began teaching at Riverdale High School and transferred to Oakland High School in August of 2008. In August of 2010, I helped open Oakland Middle School, and I've been here since (all of these moves were a result of me chasing golf coaching jobs), except for a 2-year stint back at Oakland High School in the '20-'21 and '21-'22 school years. I finished my Educational Specialist degree from MTSU in August of 2012. I am currently in my 25th year teaching (all in Rutherford County).
